I moved to Germany and found a growing innovation hub for startups. Now I get to tell the world about them. In English.

During the last year, my team and I:

  1. Launched a new website with an external vendor - including strategy, project management, copy writing, design direction and WordPress development.

  2. Substantially increased TQ’s social media presence on LinkedIn, Instagram AND Reddit.

  3. Strengthened the brand with a cohesive design and developed a “voice” in outbound marketing materials.

August 2019 - April 2020
Before I became Head of Marketing for TechQuartier, I freelanced as a communications consultant until I was offered a staff position in December 2019.

Brand Strategist at HouseSpecial

July 2014 - June 2019
Brand Strategist for HouseSpecial, the independent commercial animation spin-off of LAIKA, handling all public-facing and agency-targeted content for social media, PR and promotions in earned, owned and paid markets. Everything with the HouseSpecial brand starts and ends at my desk. 

I manage/create all external and internal communications: 
• Press releases & outreach
• Social media posts
• Build and update housespecial.com 
• Brand style guides
• Design and produce all promotional materials
• Lead community outreach
• Produce behind-the-scenes content for ad agency collaborations and studio promotion

Communications Manager at LAIKA 

2005 - July 2014
In 2005, I was hired to implement the digital re-branding of Vinton Studios to LAIKA Animation Studio.
I continued to guide the LAIKA/house brand into traditional and emerging platforms until July 2014. 
• Guided & created the brand implementation from
   Will Vinton Studios to LAIKA
• Collaborated with agencies on marketing Coraline,
   LAIKA’s first feature
• Managed the LAIKA brand online including social
   media for LAIKA/house
• Designed and managed external promotional materials and internal swag for online store
• Managed PR efforts internally while working with
   entertainment publicist
• Presenter at festivals and community-building events
